City Game – “In the Footsteps of Stanisław Witkiewicz and His Zakopane Architecture Style: Discover Why Zakopane is So Unique”

We all know Zakopane is a one-of-a-kind destination. Every visitor finds something special here—whether it’s thrilling high-altitude hikes, the vibrant artistic scene, or simply strolling down the bustling Krupówki street. But we want to turn your attention to what truly sets Zakopane apart—its breathtaking architecture!

What makes Zakopane’s architecture so unique? It all started with a humble highlander’s cottage, which was transformed by a visionary named Stanisław Witkiewicz. He developed the distinctive Zakopane Style, an architectural gem that stands out worldwide.

We invite you to explore Zakopane’s charming streets in a fun, competitive way! Teams will race against each other to discover hidden architectural treasures. Armed with a map and a scorecard, each team will navigate through key locations, completing exciting tasks to earn points.

Examples of tasks along the way:

• Build a Highlander’s Cottage: Using wooden logs, boards, doors, and windows, your team will compete to build a highlander’s cottage as quickly as possible.
• Test Your Local Knowledge: Do you know what “Żyntyca” or “Puciera” are? How much do you really know about the culture of highlanders and “ceper”?
• Zakopane Architecture Challenge: Identify key architectural elements of the Zakopane style using the provided photos.
• Quiz on Stanisław Witkiewicz and the Zakopane Style: Learn more about Witkiewicz and his legacy as you walk through the town.

After completing all the challenges, we’ll gather near your hotel for the final results and announce the winning team!
